What's in a Name?

When I started this blog I named it Darkness and Full Moon because what moved me to start writing was a trip back from New York City, driving on the Interstate in Vermont. I love darkness, I love the moon, but the word "darkness" always seemed like such a downer. So, here's a stab at another name...Moondance.
The moon draws me in just the same way as the ocean. The pull of the moon on the tides and waves, the horseshoe crabs on the sand at the Vernal Equinox, the understanding that there's powers out of our reach and we are insignificant. I feel the same way in the middle of the prairie or an Iowa cornfield.
I always wanted to dance by the light of the moon. These clear autumn nights are perfect.

Well, it's a marvelous night for a moondance,
With the stars up above in your eyes.
A fantabulous night to make romance
Neath the cover of October skies...
